Its About Time ………
Time is an illusion produced by the succession of our states of consciousness as we travel through eternal duration and it does not exist where no consciousness exists in which the illusion can be produced ……. H P Bravatsby
Time does not exist except as we say it does.
Time is an illusion, it only exists in our head, and yet we treat it as if its real as a commodity. Loads of people will tell you they need more, have run out of time and yet so many others seem to have far too much of it on their hands. So many people under “its spell”.
The child who has nothing to do and can’t fill his/her time; people who never seem to be able to finish things because there just isn’t enough time.
What is time? Linguistically it’s a nominalisition – treated as a thing when in reality it doesn’t exist. There is only now. The perception of time is the moving of your consciousness from one event to another and your consciousness moves at variable speeds. So its not time that changes its your calibration of time.
Whether time is long or short depends on you.
When you are having fun, time appears to fly – you loose track of time as you immerse yourself in the moment. You don’t notice yet your watch does, because the watch is designed to take the same amount of time to move from one moment to another and you are not.
People who are short of time, think and speak as if there isn’t enough. They rush from moment to moment and this calibration of time proves them to be right as they rush from one thing to the next many never actually completing the tasks that are set.
So many of my clients seem to live in the past, reliving past events over and over again or in the future imagining so many what ifs that they miss what is happening all around them.
The mind often wants to anticipate the future by referring to a memory from the past and we often forget that the only time is now, when you plan for the future this happens now and when you remember past events that happens now.
On 14 & 15 April at Kingston upon Thames we will be exploring time; time lines, time distortion, regression and future life progression. Looking at applications of time related techniques. Check out http://www.aventesi.net/training-courses/masterclasses.html#regression for more details and to book your place.
